“I have a very hard time staying present, but that is one of the most powerful things I think a person can do.” –Amanda Cook
There is often a daily struggle to live in the present– especially when faced with distractions and ever growing to-do lists. While it’s important to be present in every moment, Amanda is talking about the larger picture– being present in your season.
What season are you in? Sometimes words like transition, growth, healing, breakthrough, mourning, favor, or expansion can characterize our season. Whatever season you may be in, there will be times when thoughts of things “moving too fast,” “too slow,” or feeling like we should being giving our attention to other things overwhelm us. In these moments, God gives us grace to receive the growth and blessings He has for us.
Being present in our season aligns our perspective with His, and brings our full attention to His voice in our lives.
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. —Isaiah 26:3
